To have what you wanted, but it's not what you need...

It is like comparing a diamond to a rainbow.

A diamond is beautiful and solid and existing.
It is always there, and always perfect, yet there is the rainbow that lingers for only moments leaving even perfect skies looking empty, once it is gone.

Even the diamond seems dull.

And it isn't fair, not to anyone.
Because every colour will remind you of the rainbow.
You cannot even try to touch the rainbow, it belongs to the air and the sky.
The rainbow is so fleeting it cannot notice the person who gazes so longingly.

And the diamond is still there.

To be given away, to the person who will never chase the rainbows.
